Post-merger integration

Delivered a complex integration and business relocation programme in three parts.  The first 100 days focused on the mechanics of integration with the wider group and putting in place programmes to deliver the targeted synergies.  A second workstream designed and built a new manufacturing and engineering facility, including an extensive property search and lease negotiation.  The final phase completed the business relocation, requalification of production and exit from the old factory.

Led global manufacturing and engineering businesses with P&L ownership and responsibility for full scope of business functions.  Managed P&Ls for businesses in electronics components, semiconductors, sensors and power systems in the aerospace, defence, industrial and automotive markets.  Experience includes business with annual turnover between £25m and £150m; facilities in UK, Germany, US, Mexico and India; and workforce sizes between 250 and 700 employees

Site rationalisation

​Designed and executed restructuring project to address poor performing site in North America.  Consolidated production into existing UK factory, turning a loss-making position into a significant contribution at the new location. Led post-COVID restructuring programme which closed sites in UK and North Africa, relocated work to other locations, including a factory in Malaysia and a new supply chain partner in India.  Experienced in qualification to challenging aerospace and defence standards

Group strategic planning

Led development of a FTSE350 company’s annual strategic planning process.  Having defined new process and templates for the four divisions, worked with executives across the business to develop five-year plans, organise strategy conference, and prepare papers for investors and board members

Established JV in China to improve access to Asia, extend product portfolio and provide lower cost manufacturing for improved competitiveness.  Managed sale of six industrial businesses, including the disposal of £50m generator business in Mexico, as part of a major portfolio reorganisation
